What does the person need? Is the gift for a boy, girl, man, woman, or pet? How much can I afford on the gift?

Asking questions before buying a gift can help you sort through the process. If you can only afford $20, why waste time heading to stores that provide costly gifts. If you have no skills in making gifts, the idea then is shopping at affordable areas. If you are shopping through catalogues or online, bear shipping and handling fees in mind.
